Description

Vernier callipers are more durable than digital callipers because they do not have internal moving parts, but they can be more difficult to read. The Brown & Sharpe 00590092 Twin-Cal IP40 series electronic callipers has a 0 to 6"/0 to 150mm measuring range with 0.0005"/0.01mm resolution and 0.001"/0.03mm accuracy for obtaining outside, inside, step, and depth dimensions for a variety of precision measurement uses. A pair of jaws attached to a long beam with a marked scale is used to take inside, outside, and step measurements. The reading is electronically generated and displayed on a digital, high-resolution screen as a single value. Digital callipers can take differential measurements, which are used to determine the difference in measurements between two objects, by zeroing the display at any point along the scale. It comes with a lithium battery and a fitted storage case. One jaw is fixed to the end of the scale, while the other jaw slides along it with gearless precision to take measurements. It has a thumb wheel slide control and a round depth rod. The LCD has 0.43" high digits and its function buttons control on/off, zero-set, inch/mm conversion, mode, and data send. An additional depth probe slides along the beam to take depth measurements.
