Being able to see traffic volumes, throughput, etc - by device, protocol has given us a much better idea of who's downloading what, and exactly how much (and we've discovered and eliminated a couple of rouge applications as a result). This little device does the trick nicely. Like everyone else we ran everything through a standard consumer wifi router (which to be honest, struggled a bit). • Lan traffic goes through the gateway and then onto a switch, while wifi traffic is manged by the old wifi router which now operates only as an access point (addressing, access, etc - is all handled by the gateway).
